- Conducting a run test to confirm that the generator starts reliably and operates under load.
- Examining the exhaust system and ensuring that all safety features are functioning correctly.
2. Routine Operation and Short-Term Maintenance (Customer Responsibilities):
While our pre-rental inspection ensures a quality unit, customers are expected to perform routine checks and minor upkeep during the rental period to maintain optimal performance. Responsibilities typically include:
- Daily/Pre-Operation Checks:
- Visual Inspection:
- Look for any signs of fuel or oil leaks.
- Check for unusual noises or vibrations when the unit is running.
- Fluid Levels:
- Ensure that oil and fuel levels are within the recommended ranges before each use.
- Only automotive diesel fuel should be used in this generator.
- 15W40 Engine Oil for diesel engines only should be used. (It is not the same oil used in gas vehicles)
- Cleanliness:
- Keep the generator clean and free from debris, which can affect cooling and airflow.
- Operational Monitoring:
- Load Management:
- Operate within the generator’s rated capacity to prevent undue stress on the engine.
- Reporting Issues:
- Notify our service team immediately if you notice any performance issues or abnormal sounds.
- Post-Operation Duties:
- Shutdown Procedures:
- Follow proper shutdown procedures to avoid engine damage.
- Refuelling:
- Ensure that fuel is handled safely and stored according to guidelines.
- The generator is provided with a full fuel tank and should be returned with a full fuel tank.
3. Scheduled Maintenance (Coordination Between Customer and Rental Service):
For more extended rental periods, scheduled maintenance might be required:
- Oil and Filter Changes:
- Our service team will advise on the timing based on usage hours. Customers should log usage hours if required.
- Oil changes are required every 50 hours of use. 15W40 Diesel Engine Oil (For Diesel Engines ONLY) should be used.
- In-Depth Inspections:
- For extended rentals, we may schedule periodic inspections during the rental period. Customers should make the unit available for these checks as per the agreement.
